LIVE THE SONG – COME ON BABY, LET’S GET IT ON

Song of Songs 4:16

She

16 Awake, north wind,
    and come, south wind!
Blow on my garden,
    that its fragrance may spread everywhere.
Let my beloved come into his garden
    and taste its choice fruits.

In other words, “Come on baby, let’s get it on.”

LIVE THE SONG – A SPRING ENCLOSED

Song of Songs 4:11-15

Him

The fragrance of your garments

  is like the fragrance of Lebanon.
12 You are a garden locked up, my sister, my bride;
    you are a spring enclosed, a sealed fountain.
13 Your plants are an orchard of pomegranates
    with choice fruits,
    with henna and nard,
14     nard and saffron,
    calamus and cinnamon,
    with every kind of incense tree,
    with myrrh and aloes
    and all the finest spices.
15 You are[j] a garden fountain,
    a well of flowing water
    streaming down from Lebanon.

You are a spring enclosed, a sealed fountain….

A well of flowing water, streaming down from Lebanon….

Do you think of sex as a way to be refreshed – and a way to refresh your husband.

LIVE THE SONG – ONE GLANCE OF YOUR EYES

Song of Songs 4-7-9

You are altogether beautiful, my darling;

there is no flaw in you.

Come with me from Lebanon, my bride,

    come with me from Lebanon.
Descend from the crest of Amana,
    from the top of Senir, the summit of Hermon,
from the lions’ dens
    and the mountain haunts of leopards.
You have stolen my heart, my sister, my bride; you have stolen my heart
with one glance of your eyes,   with one jewel of your necklace.

The eyes are so powerful. Over and over in Song of Songs, connection is made through eye to eye contact.

LIVE THE SONG – TWO FAWNS

Song of Songs 4:5-7

He

Your breasts are like two fawns,
    like twin fawns of a gazelle
    that browse among the lilies.
Until the day breaks
    and the shadows flee,
I will go to the mountain of myrrh
    and to the hill of incense.
You are altogether beautiful, my darling;
    there is no flaw in you.

It amazes me how entertaining breasts are to men….

LIVE THE SONG – YOUR LIPS

Song of Songs 4:1-4

He

How beautiful you are, my darling!
    Oh, how beautiful!
    Your eyes behind your veil are doves.
Your hair is like a flock of goats

descending from the hills of Gilead.

Your teeth are like a flock of sheep just shorn,

 coming up from the washing.

Each has its twin;
    not one of them is alone.
Your lips are like a scarlet ribbon;
    your mouth is lovely.
Your temples behind your veil
    are like the halves of a pomegranate.
Your neck is like the tower of David,
    built with courses of stone[i];
on it hang a thousand shields,
    all of them shields of warriors.
Your lips are like a scarlet ribbon.

I kiss with my lips. I speak with my lips. I eat with my lips. But I don’t know if I think of my lips as a way to entice my husband.

lips

When I was young, I remember my mom always putting on lip stick before we went out. It was this instant change to who she was and how she felt.

I am more of a chapstick girl. Really my entire family is pretty much addicted to it. We don’t leave home with out a stick in our pocket.

But maybe I need to think of using my lips as a way to transform from mom, to WOMAN. Maybe I need to pick up a few different colors of lipstick to provide an instant change in what mood is set in my marriage bed. Some bright red for classic elegance and sophistication, some wet luscious pink for playfulness and how about black? I wonder what that would do?

This week –

1. Try putting on lipstick to set the mood in bed.

2. Try to flirt with your husband by simply using your lips.

LIVE THE SONG – THE CARRIAGE

Vintage Car CoupleSong of Songs 3:6-11

She

Who is this coming up from the wilderness
    like a column of smoke,
perfumed with myrrh and incense
    made from all the spices of the merchant?
Look! It is Solomon’s carriage,
    escorted by sixty warriors,
    the noblest of Israel,
all of them wearing the sword,
    all experienced in battle,
each with his sword at his side,
    prepared for the terrors of the night.
King Solomon made for himself the carriage;
    he made it of wood from Lebanon.
10 Its posts he made of silver,
    its base of gold.
Its seat was upholstered with purple,
    its interior inlaid with love.
Daughters of Jerusalem, 11 come out,
    and look, you daughters of Zion.
Look on King Solomon wearing a crown,
    the crown with which his mother crowned him
on the day of his wedding,
    the day his heart rejoiced.

My husband loves cars. I could point to any car that we pass and he could tell me the make and model. He watches car races, he reads about cars and he reads about the people that race cars. He simply loves cars.

LIVE THE SONG – UNTIL THE DAY BREAKS

Song of Songs 2:16-17

She

16 My beloved is mine and I am his;
    he browses among the lilies.
17 Until the day breaks
    and the shadows flee,
turn, my beloved,
    and be like a gazelle
or like a young stag
    on the rugged hills.[g]

My beloved is mine and I am his: he browses among the lilies. Until the day breaks and the shadows flee….

The most common time that couples have sex is 11:00 at night – probably one of the worst times. It is when our bodies are exhausted, and our brains over stimulated processing what happened throughout the day.

We need to have sex other times of the day, and one of the best is first thing in the morning. If we have been cuddling all night long, our bodies will be warmed up. Hopefully our brains have not sprung back into action thinking about the schedule for the day yet.  Our husbands testosterone levels are at their highest and our bodies are rested.

So this week –

1. Have sex in the morning.

LIVE THE SONG – Come with me.

Song of Songs 2:10- 13

She

10 My beloved spoke and said to me,
    “Arise, my darling,
    my beautiful one, come with me.
11 See! The winter is past;
    the rains are over and gone.
12 Flowers appear on the earth;
    the season of singing has come,
the cooing of doves
    is heard in our land.
13 The fig tree forms its early fruit;
    the blossoming vines spread their
fragrance.

Arise, come, my darling;
    my beautiful one, come with me.”

Winter is past and Spring is on it’s way.

LIVE THE SONG- Look! Here he comes…

Song of Songs 2:8-9

She
8 Listen! My beloved!
Look! Here he comes,
leaping across the mountains,
bounding over the hills.
9 My beloved is like a gazelle or a young stag.
Look! There he stands behind our wall,
gazing through the windows,
peering through the lattice.

Look!

Do we look at our husbands? Do we look at our husbands bodies? Do we look at how they move?

LIVE THE SONG – Embrace Me

Song of Songs 2:6-7

She

 6His left arm is under my head,
    and his right arm embraces me.
Daughters of Jerusalem, I charge you
    by the gazelles and by the does of the field:
Do not arouse or awaken love
    until it so desires.

His right arm embraces me.

How our husband embraces us can set the tone for sex.
