How to Talk to Your Kids About Sex

When I speak to mom’s groups about sex they often ask, “When should I start talking to my kids about sex?” They are probably hoping for a little more time to prepare. But none of us have more time. Culture, media, schools and porn are educating our kids everyday about sex. If we want our kids to have a biblical view about sex and other hard topics, then we can no longer remain silent.  One of the most important choices we will make as a parent is to start talking to our kids about sex, today. And it is never too late to start.

But talking to your kids about sex, masturbation,  or porn can feel awkward and downright terrifying – especially in today’s world.

If we want to change the culture of sex in the church, then it starts with each one of us learning to address any question about sex with honesty, and grace. We must ground ourselves in the knowledge that God created sex and He isn’t afraid of the questions, confusion, or struggles that sometimes come, but He wants us to turn to Him.
