Song of Songs 2:8-9
8 Listen! My beloved!
Look! Here he comes,
leaping across the mountains,
bounding over the hills.
9 My beloved is like a gazelle or a young stag.
Look! There he stands behind our wall,
gazing through the windows,
peering through the lattice.
Do we look at our husbands? Do we look at our husbands bodies? Do we look at how they move?
I am always amazed at how different my husband’s body is compared to mine. Even just looking at the size of his rib cage or the broadness of his shoulders.
The parts of my body that my husband enjoys most, are the parts that are oh so different than his. The parts that are soft and curved are magnets for his eyes.
Women constantly hear how visual men are so it might be easy to dismiss the importance of admiring our husband’s body. But do we miss an opportunity to visually know our husbands? Do we miss out on a way to enjoy and admire his body? Do miss a chance to keep sex on our mind by not allowing ourselves to think of our husbands bodies like that?
Wives might be drawn to the strength of a husbands back, the safeness of his arms, or the lean muscles in his legs and rear. We might be drawn to how he moves – how he runs, or bends over, or picks up a child in his arms. Don’t miss out on enjoying your husband visually because you think it is something that just men do.
This Week –
1. Watch your husband get dressed or take a shower and let him know what you love about his body.
2. Watch how your husband moves and allow your mind to wander to admiring him. If opportunity arises, let him know what you are thinking.
